What Is A PBN(Private Blog Network)? Should You Use It?

What is a PBN? In light of recent events, I will explain how private blog networks are structured. Let’s get to it and make it clear.

This is explicitly only a definition, no instructions or recommendations. Private blog networks are risky, but not deadly.

What is a PBN? Definition

A private blog network (short: PBN) consists of many domains that belong to or are controlled by the same person (therefore “private”).

Why build a PBN?

The goal is to quickly and inexpensively build content on many sub-pages of these domains, where optimized links to one or more main projects can then be set in a text context (see figure).

The main project (also: “Money Site”) is supposed to achieve better rankings for valuable search terms (“Money Keys”) through a large number of supposedly topic-related links in the search results.

what is a pbn structure

There are typically self-hosted domains, not subdomains to WordPress.com, tumblr.com, or the like, since they can transfer more “control” through the links.

Usually, domains between domains are expired. Expired domains are Internet addresses that have been used previously but have been discarded.

Anyone can own them, and sometimes at a fair price-sometimes, just a subscription fee needs to be charged, much like a very new domain. External connections to a website of formerly actual content are also still available.

Is there a risk by using a PBN?

Sounds great. Should I do that for my site?

Do it if you know how; stop if you don’t! If you run a serious website and want to run it successfully in the long run, you should know that your competitors are using this strategy as well.

BUT! Google and other search engines don’t like blog networks (whether private or public) at all and take action against them within the scope of their possibilities, for example, with manual measures.

The reason for this is also easy to understand. From the schematic diagram, it can already be seen that the whole network of content and links is not made for human users at all.

The texts of blog posts are often the result of spinning or automatic translations of other posts; real added value for real users is missing.

To avoid rubbing this procedure in the search engines’ faces, PBN professionals make every effort not to leave any footprints indicating the common owner of all domains (e.g., identical designs and imprints, identical IP C-class, …)

Should I Get Normal Hosting For a PBN?

No, don’t do it! It’s expensive and it will suck up all your energy only by switching hosts.

We recommend PBN.LTD – Get The Best And Cheapest PBN Hosting(Starts from 1$/Domain ! !)

Where can you find them? Right here, just click link below!

So the advantage is, you can get good rankings. It’s always just a question of how long. Google prohibits link networks.

With a host like PBN.LTD you can hide forever, but without it, life becomes harder the moment search engines sniff around your network.

Are PBNs a bad strategy?

As I said, it depends on what strategy you follow. If I wanted to build a large online store, maybe with employees, or something sustainable, I would not use PBNs. Not if you can pay enough for other people to assess PBN links.

Truth is, as already said, even the competitors of my competitors are using them. Why wouldn’t you?

What would I need to set up a PBN?

A private blog network consists of a similar number of domains that have “solid” incoming connections.

  1. These characteristics describe the intensity or consistency of the link:
  2. Link location (content, sidebar, footer?)
  3. The number of other outbound links on the list (max. 10/page)
  4. Relevant website (topical relevance, trust?)

With the MajesticSEO SEO app, you will figure out which connections point to a domain. Also, MajesticSEO measures two domain metrics-based on all incoming links: Confidence Flow and Citation Flow.

Using these metrics, you can assess how much the domain gains from inbound or backlink connections.

What’s the flow of trust?

This metric determines the consistency of the inbound connection. The rating is to be at least 15+.

What’s a Citation Flow?

The metric determines the number of incoming connections. The rating is to be at least 15+.

Note: You can always check the accuracy of the backlinks yourself before purchasing an (expired) domain. Why? Why? Unfortunately, the Confidence Flow and Citation Flow metrics can also be falsified by spammers and hackers.

The Conclusion

By building a PBN wrongly, you might encounter a penalty to your website, getting de-indexed and having to start from the beginning.

By doing it the right way, using the right host(PBN.LTD), you will leave no footprints, nothing that search engines could possibly sniff around. It’s for the best that you use PBNs to rank medium-high competition keywords and not waste them on low competition ones.

You can build them by purchasing expired domains and making a real looking website. They take time, money, and most importantly, a lot of care! Treat your PBNs as if they were money sites.
